This summer school is open to doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows with an interest in neurology, neuroscience, molecular biology and electrophysiology.

The five-day programme will allow students to explore the physiological and pathological aspects of pain, employing cutting-edge technologies. Renowned scientists will train participants for advancements in pain treatment. Course content includes advanced courses, workshops on techniques as well as hands-on training.

A joint initiative of the University of Bordeaux, the CERVO research centre at Université Laval (Québec City, Canada), and the Institute of Cellular and Integrative Neuroscience in Strasbourg (France), the first edition will take place in Bordeaux (France).

Target group

The course is designed for for doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows with an interest in neurology, neuroscience, molecular biology and electrophysiology.

Language requirements: classes are conducted in English. Candidates should have a B2 level of English or equivalent.

Candidates must provide a CV, a cover letter detailing their scientific interest for attending the summer school, as well as a reference letter from their home laboratory.

Course aim

The objective of this summer school is to bring together highly renowned scientists working on pain pathology, experienced mentors that will train students during workshops, and the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience, which will offer specific training courses.

Over the course of five days, this intensive programme will provide students with advanced courses in neural circuits of pain, workshops to study cutting-edge techniques in detail as well as a day dedicated to training courses during which students will be able to choose specific techniques that they may implement in their laboratory after the summer school.

EUR 300: 300€ for students from members of the ENLIGHT European University consortium (including lunch, coffee breaks, accommodation, and social programme costs)
EUR 850: 850€ for regular participants (including breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, accommodation and social programme costs)
