Are you a bachelor's or first year master’s student, studying biological, biochemical, cell biological or bioinformatic sciences or similar, looking for a student-tailored diabetes internship program to get first hands-on experience?

Our summer internship program in a nutshell

Internship period: July 8 – August 30 2024

Application period: Feb 9 – March 8 2024

Location: Helmholtz Munich (Munich, Germany)

Language: English

Fees: none. Costs are covered for accommodation in a shared room, a fixed travel allowance (if you do not live in Munich) and an allowance for living expenses.

What you will learn during your internship

You will apply your knowledge of science to an existing research project

You will learn to apply the latest techniques in diabetes research and to critically discuss and analyze data.

You will be assigned a personal mentor and benefit from the expertise of experienced colleagues.

The dialogue and feedback will help you to expand your own knowledge and develop and discuss your own ideas.

You will regularly attend lectures on various diabetes-related topics.

Who can apply?

We are looking for bachelor’s students (minimum two years) or first-year master’s students based in Germany or worldwide

Field of study: biology, biochemical, cell biological or bioinformatic sciences or similar

Applicants need to be enrolled at their university for the period of the internship.

About us

We are the Helmholtz Diabetes Research School (HRD). We strongly believe that young and highly qualified scientists are key to pioneering innovations in cutting-edge research. Therefore, we offer young doctoral researchers tailored interdisciplinary and professional training on top of an excellent diabetes-centered scientific education.
