The professionalisation of language mediation and the ongoing technological revolution have radically transformed the translation and interpreting industry, transforming workflows, quality assurance measures and even the very notion of translation. The wide-spread use of technology and artificial intelligence has created unavoidable challenges and opportunities for language mediation in the 21st century, and the present course aims to introduce this changing landscape to the participants.

Course aim

Theoretical lectures and practical sessions will provide insights into relevant translation theory and practice, computer aided interpreting, translation technology, the application of ChatGPT, ethical and legal issues of AI, audiovisual translation, terminology - and many other topics related to the modern-day practive of translation and interpreting.

Our course offers ECTS points, which may be accepted for credit transfer by the participants' home universities.

EUR 970: The course fee for 2-week on-site courses - that includes tuition fee, meals (coffee break and lunch), local transport and the cost of the leisure time programs - is 970 EUR
