The summer school is an opportunity for theologians or other graduates interested on theology and religion (even with hitherto little knowledge of German) to immerse into language, thought, and the intellectual world of German theology.

Target group

Doctoral students, but also Master Students and other Graduates (including those with already advanced careers) interested in German theology and the German language. Some previous basic knowledge of German is required.

Course aim

Proficiency in both theological thinking and German language so that German theological sources texts can be read and understood in the original language – from Meister Eckhart and Martin Luther to current theological thinkers.

Fee info

EUR 1280: The fee includes accommodation – mostly with guest families –, course material, excursions (but not food or travel expenses). For those who do not need accommodation or prefer to organise their accommodation themselves (e.g. if they have special needs or travel with their families), there is a reduced course fee.
