TOChina Summer School
The TOChina Summer School is promoted by the TOChina Hub, an integrated knowledge hub developed in the city of Torino, whose steering partners are the Department of Culture, Politics and Society (DCPS) of the University of Torino, ESCP Business School (Turin campus) and T.wai - Torino World Affairs Institute.
The program is suitable for both those wishing to study the domestic aspects of China’s politics and for participants intending to explore the rapidly evolving dynamics of Asian and global geopolitics and economics. For those looking for insight into future career options, the TOChina Summer School offers a unique opportunity to inquire with senior scholars who are often in charge of PhD programs in their country, and affiliated to a variety of organizations. The
cherished informal sessions that TOChina faculty members accept to have with participants after class are a trademark of TOChina’s hands-on approach.
The aim of the program is to work at the intersection between China’s long-term structural transformations in socio-political, economic and cultural terms, and those particularly salient recent trends that inform international debate at the present time.
In 2016 the School will partner with the “Along the Silk Roads” conference, organized by President Romano Prodi’s Foundation for World Wide Cooperation and Nankai University in the city of Venice.
To secure pluralism of disciplinary and intellectual perspectives, TOChina Summer School faculty members include both academics and policy experts, from a variety of fields, including Economics, Economic History, International Political Economy, International Relations, Political Philosophy and Culture, Political Science, and Sociology.
Participants who successfully complete the program (i.e. participate to a minimum of 42 hours of lectures/seminars and pass the final test) are awarded a certificate issued by the TOChina Centre of the Department of Culture, Politics and Society of the University of Torino. Such certificate will indicate the title of the Summer School, the sessions attended and the grade obtained at the final test.
The TOChina Summer School certificate may be used to claim a minimum of 6 CFU: the TOChina Program Manager will send all necessary documents to other universities for the CFUs to be awarded according to each institution’s regulations.
