This course offers classes of language level B1, B2 and C1 (Common European Framwork of Reference for Languages CEFR). By the means of authentic and up to date materials and a variety of interesting topics and texts you can brush up and intensify your knowledge of the English language. Task-based grammar and oral skills training under the guidance of our highly qualified teachers, who are all native speakers guarantee a language training of the highest standards. Special study techniques such as reading strategies or presentation skills will also be practised. The morning course consists of a total of 72 (18 x 4) hours. The lessons can be complemented by daily practise at the Language Lab and by attending a seminar in the afternoons. Day trips to the Black Forest and the Alsace Region of France are offered in addition to a varied program in and around Freiburg, organized by our dedicated student helpers.
All our English language teachers are highly qualified and experienced native speakers.
This course is specifically designed for students with language level B1, B2 and C1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR) wanting to take up an English-language degree course at a German university.
German language skills are not required.
A Transcript of Records including your grade, your personal language level and your ECTS credit points will show your performances.
Up to 6 ECTS credit points can be issued by daily practise at the modern Language Lab and by attending seminars in the afternoon.
EUR 650: The course fee includes learning materials, access to the university PC pools and internet, as well as leisure activities.
EUR 350: Single rooms in student dormitories or in shared private flats in Freiburg may be arranged upon request.
