The scientific study of social behaviour, Human Sciences is the perfect course for those who want to apply an interest in psychology to wider ideas of social change, group activity, class structure and mass communication. It is a social science that scrutinises our collective decisions and paves the way for a deeper understanding of societies when they succeed, as well as when they fall apart.
Our course draws on the expertise of world-leading researchers in sociology, anthropology, and human sciences. There is scope to specify areas which you are particularly interested in, and we will work with our tutors to identify a curriculum that best suits all requests.
Unit 1: Constructing Culture: Ideas of Belonging in Modern Society
Unit 2: Violence and Disorder: Social Degeneration
Unit 3: Communication: Building Networks in a Modern Age
These units may be adapted to best fit the research areas of the particular tutor, so that students always have access to the freshest and most exciting research on the topic. If you are accepted onto the programme, then there is scope to specialise within a particular area by agreement with your tutor.
