Program of the summer school is focused on expanding the standard of practical and theoretical knowledge and skills of students of the veterinarian faculties in branch of veterinary hygiene and food safety. Acquired knowledge meets the requirements for qualification of official veterinarians according to the Regulation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) no. 854/2004, laying down specific rules for the organization of official controls on products of animal origin intended for human consumption.During the course, the acquired knowledge and practical skills meet the requirements for quality of veterinarian control in food hygiene within the European space.
The teaching will be carried out in English language by experienced teachers mainly from the Faculty of Veterinary Food Hygiene and Ecology, however, it is also opened to eminent specialists from European as well as overseas faculties.

Target group

Summer school is designed primarily for undergraduate and doctoral students of European veterinary faculties.

Course aim

The target of this course is to complement the level of standard education at veterinary universities by theoretical and practical knowledge of students so as after completion of their studies their knowledge and skills corresponded to requirements prescribed by the Regulation (EC) No 854/2004 of the European parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004.

Fee info

EUR 600: Fee includes theoretical and practical education,excursions to the abbatoirs and food companies,the accommodation at the university dormitory, study materials and weekend's trips to the capital of the Czech Republic and surroundings of Brno.


Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology doesn't offer scholarships for this course.
