This Summer School opens up the possibility for students from China and the world to visit Europe for four weeks in order to be able to gain an intensive insight into our political, economic and legal system as well as to distinguish the cultural differences.

Lectures are held at the University of Salzburg, the University of Vienna, University of Reims, the University of Heidelberg and University of Bologna. The students have also the opportunity to visit the European Court of Human Rights in Strassbourg and to participate in lecutres given by experts.

Professors from the University of Salzburg are giving lectures on political science, western philosophy, history and German literature. A lecture about the tradition of Austrian Music is be held by a professor from the University Mozarteum Salzburg. The University of Vienna offers the students lectures about Intercultural Management and Austrian Economics. Also University of Reims, University of Bologna and the University of Heidelberg will participate in the program.

While the students' stay in Europe they also get the chance to visit the UNO-City, the Music Society Vienna, the Castle Schönbrunn, the Trick Fountains in Salzburg, Lake Wolfgang, Castle Neuschwanstein and many more beautiful European sights and cities.

Course leader

The team from the Chinese Studies Centre will supervise the different groups from the Summer School and send one guardian with each group.

Target group

The Summer School is directed towards students who want to deepen their knowledge about Europe in general
and Austria in particular.

Course aim

Students have the possibility to deepen their knowledge about Europe and develop new international friendships with other participants.

Credits info

5 EC
Depending on the field of study, students can optionally apply for 5 ECTS credits at their own university or college.

Fee info

EUR 2800: This includes accommodation (double rooms/including breakfast), program fees, insurance, transportation as well as the costs for the sightseeing trips. Additional fees may occur if you want to participate in additional trips.
