The ability to negotiate effectively is an important skill in business. This course, taught by a US professor from the University of Michigan, emphasizes negotiation strategies and skills that will enable you to successfully negotiate business transactions and resolve disputes. Among the specific topics in the course are cross-cultural negotiation, legal and ethical guidelines for negotiation, and psychological tools that increase your negotiation effectiveness.

Course leader

George Siedel, PhD, a professor of Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan (USA) and also teaches short versions of the course in Executive MBA and Executive Education programs around the world.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Sunday 21st, August
- Arrival to Zagreb
- Welcome dinner with the entire group to introduce the program to students

Day 2 - Monday 22nd, August
- Company visit: US Embassy (9am-12pm)
- Lunch at ZSEM
- Class: ''Cross-Cultural Negotiations and Dispute Resolution'' (2pm-5pm)

Day 3 - Tuesday 23rd, August
- Class: ''Cross-Cultural Negotiations and Dispute Resolution''( 9am – 12pm)
- Lunch at ZSEM
- Class: ''Croatian Business Culture'' (1pm-1:45pm)
- Class: ''Cross-Cultural Negotiations and Dispute Resolution'' (2pm-5pm)

Day 4 – Wednesday 24th, August
- Company Visit: All day visit to Podravka and nearby winery (9am - 5pm)
- Lunch included

Day 5 – Thursday 25th, August
- Class: ''Cross-Cultural Negotiations and Dispute Resolution'' (9am-12pm)
- Lunch at ZSEM
- Company visit: P&G (2pm-5pm)

Day 6 – Friday 26th, August
- Company visit: Franck (9am-12pm)
- Lunch in town (on own)

- Guided tour of Zadar
- Free afternoon (proposed activities: beach, cafes, sightseeing historic buildings in old town)
