when 16 July 2016 - 25 July 2016
language English
duration 2 weeks
fee DKK 4500

EMSS16 will be a 10 day long educational experience with social excursions around wonderful Copenhagen alongside the factual sessions. The majority of the factual part of the course will take place at CAMES (Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation) atop Herlev hospital just outside of Copenhagen. You will all work at “William Osler’s Memorial Hospital”.

You will meet kids, teenagers, adults and geriatric patients in a safe, simulated, setting. They will be at the wards and they will be brought in to Osler’s Memorial’s Emergency Room and you’re the doctor on call! You will receive the patients from the paramedics and learn just how important transitions from one system to another can be.

This also means that during this year’s summer school you actually have a work schedule. You show up in scrubs and white coat, attend morning or afternoon report and you do your shift.

We even have night shifts planned for you. They will take place at the Osler’s Emergency Care Center, a very special clinic located away from the Osler’s Memorial hospital.

Accommodation will be at a local high school within walking distance of Northern Europes largest simulation center at CAMES, at Herlev Hospital. The high school is also within walking distance of the local train station with quick transit time (15 min) to the center of Copenhagen.
