Open Minded Project Management

when 2 July 2012 - 27 July 2012
duration 4 weeks
fee EUR 1900

This course is an open minded response to the persons looking for getting knowledge and practice related to the modern human and material resource management. Management alternatives associated to a project accomplishment will be presented and practiced.

The lack of specific training or updating became obvious during the continuous increment of the competitive environment which involved switching from the traditional economy to the information economy where the virtual products, the orientation toward client’s needs and expectations, the continuous change requests and the pressure over the bottom lines affect directly the project execution (delays, scope creep, gold plating, over costs and failures).

In order to accomplish his mission, the project manager must perform an appropriate and flexible definition, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and finally closing the project he manages. For this reason there has been continuously developed a group of products, methods and techniques which form the “tool box” of managing projects.

The course gives a flexible and practical approach of the Project Manager profession from the context of accomplishing his tasks up to the abilities he needs to develop. During the course a satisfactory analysis of the methods, techniques and tools for project management is being done.

Two of the most worldwide spread project management frames are presented (PMBOK and PRINCE2), blended waterfall and agile execution is tested so the participants may approach and compare in order to take the most suitable option. The PMBOK frame and the hybrid project execution will be explored during Barcelona training over two weeks period, while the PRINCE2 methodology will be approached during 10 days in Almere, Amsterdam area. Special imagination 2 days workshop activities will also be performed in Almere.
