Innovations in the Digital World

when 8 August 2017 - 8 August 2017
language English
credits 6 EC
fee EUR 1395

The international summer school 2017 in Hamburg sets the course for creativity, design and sustainable business development in digital and digitalized markets. Participants will learn about the rules and patterns of digital transformation for companies, markets and us, the clients and users.

Different innovation methods and techniques will be presented and directly exercised in groups and workshops, such as design thinking, 10-types-of-innovation game, melt methods or the unicorn approach. Nevertheless, a good and creative idea is not enough to make it to market and be successful. A captive design is the key to convince clients and users and build a good business relation and customer loyalty. Therefore, participants will also get to know the rules of design and usability and create their own products and offerings by setting this theoretical expertise in scene. In addition to that, participants will set up a new and individual business concept and a business plan to market their creation and run a company based on that concept or product that earns money and is on the growing track. The outcome of the summer school will be a complete and coherent innovative product or offering and business model especially created and designed for digital markets and digital costumer needs. By attending specialized and focused classes and lectures, participants will also get in touch with related topics such as digital law or consumer behavior regarding innovations. Lectures and workshops will be given by professors of BiTS and BTK Universities and professional business and innovation managers coming from international companies based in Hamburg. After the summer school in Hamburg, participants will know in theory and practice how digital innovation and business development works and are highly prepared for a further career in this field of business.

Besides this, there will be enough time to get to know the city of Hamburg in summertime as well as other regions of Germany.
