ArtEZ Summer School Cultural Enterprise
ArtEZ educates artists and designers who are able to find their own way through the creative economy, which calls for thorough preparation for the follow-up steps of graduates and alumni. ArtEZ prepares its graduates both intramurally and extramurally, using a tool such as ASCOZ (ArtEZ Summerschool Cultureel Ondernemen Zwolle), a Summer School in Cultural Enterprise.
ASCOZ takes place in the form of a pressure cooker: the key aspects of cultural enterprise are addressed in one continuous, intensive week. The approach and contents of the program are geared to the individual participants' needs.
As such, it is essential that the participant has a clear set of questions upon arrival, such as: How do I set up my company? How do I move on from idea to commercial concept? How do I formulate a business plan? How can I apply successfully to a fund? How do I reach my customers?
A admission interview will be held before the start of the summer school to check and fine-tune mutual expectations.

Further information in dutch on: the program day by day, the admission and/or admission intake or other questions can be required by sending a email to:
abc@artez.nl or visit the official course site (in dutch) www.ascoz.nl
Target group
ASCOZ specifically targets recent ArtEZ Art & Design graduates and cultural start-ups in the creative economy. Working in the creative economy requires some experience on the part of the participants. On the one hand, this experience will enable them to make a realistic assessment of what is and what is not possible in their own market. On the other, experience is a source of inspiration for all participants in the Summer School.
Other Art & Design graduates and cultural start-ups in the creative economy who are interested in participating in this course, are welcome to sign in. A different fee will apply.
Course aim
After the Summer School, each participant will leave with a concrete product, be it a business plan and/or a subsidy application. In parallel to the personal questions, skills will be honed, such as negotiating, pitching, building a network of customers and business relations.
