Spend a week in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Enjoy Europe, museum and studio visits, classes on contemporary art from the industry insiders and practical workshops in the city.

Participants meet artists, curators and exhibition organizers and have an exciting opportunity to see, feel and understand Italian and international contemporary art scene. Experienced cultural entrepreneurs share insights on creating a successful project in the context of the Venice Biennale and talk openly and honestly about challenges in the art sector.

Morning classes take place in historic palazzos located in the centre of Venice. Each program includes workshops with curators, artists or architects. You spend afternoons visiting museums, design studios e.g. Prada Foundation and Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Enjoy Venice beyond the classroom. Leveraging our 15-year experience of working in this incredible city, we will guide you to its most alluring locations. You will have just enough time beyond the classroom to immerse yourself in creative and cultural activities or relax at famous Lido beach. For anybody who wishes to explore Italy, Florence, Siena and Milan are within proximity.

The program is coordinated by Rene Rietmeyer, president of the European Cultural Centre Foundation. European Cultural Centre owns four historic palaces in Venice, Italy where it hosts National participations for the Biennale and other large-scale internat

Target group

The courses are open for anyone with an interest in Art and Culture. Your peers come from all backgrounds and are international, curious and inquisitive minds that are looking to expand their knowledge. Many of them will be responsible for managing and advancing best projects in art, design and cultural entrepreneurship.

Course aim

After completion of the course you will have insights into contemporary art tendencies and the state of art market. You will feel as an insider at the Venice Biennale and similar large international art events by knowing what questions to ask and what things to pay attention to. You will also have a decent knowledge of Venice and its beautiful surroundings.

Credits info

All students get certificate after successful completion of the course.

You can get 3-10 ECTS by registering the course as your internship/work placement/stage. You have to apply for credits BEFORE starting the course. Contact us for details.
