About

This one-week online acting course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama offers a unique insight into actor training. During this course, you will devise and create your own work, as well as learning how to approach contemporary and classical text. Working closely with a director, you will explore practical and vocational training. The online course also offers the additional opportunity to examine how these techniques apply to adapting your performance for self-taping and video auditions.

Course leader

The course has been developed by Aled Pedrick, a Guildhall trained actor, theatre director and singing teacher. Each group will be led by a dedicated industry professional appointed by the course leader.

Target group

16 and 17 year olds interested in learning more about acting. No previous experience is necessary, just a passion and enthusiasm for drama.

Course aim

You will work in a group of up to 12 participants. Each group will be led by a dedicated course director who will work with you on:

- Contemporary speeches
- Classical verse speaking
- Devised work
- Personal response work
- Project rehearsals

At the end of the week, you will perform in a live sharing, which will be recorded for you to share with friends and family.
