Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing society, creativity, and global challenges, and this course invites you to explore its transformative potential. Target group

This International Summer School programme is aimed at 18+ international students from all over the world, including international students currently studying in the UK. This course is based on a University of Southampton postgraduate module and is designed to give you a taste of postgraduate life and education at Southampton.

Previous experience with data, maths and concepts in AI would be beneficial, however this is not a strict requirement. Please outline your suitability in a short statement when applying for your place on the course.

Course aim

This course is not credit bearing. Over 2 weeks, you'll gain insights into the diverse applications of AI, with the course delving into topics such as:

AI in Court: Algorithms for Justice
AI and Music: Creativity and Creative Industries
AI and Art: Imagery, Artists and Artwork
Generative AI: Writing, Story-telling, and Intellectual Property
AI and Democracy: Opinions, Elections, Hate, Trolls, and Bots
International AI: The United Nations of Responsible AI
AI Science: The Maths and Computer Science Behind AI
AI Skills: Using AI Systems to Solve Practical Problems.

Fee info

Your fee includes the cost of tuition and the incorporated social-cultural programme. Applying to stay in University of Southampton accommodation during your course will add an extra fee to the overall cost of your programme.
