This course is relevant for students interested in understanding how artificial intelligence is transforming educational systems, policies, and professional practices across Europe. By engaging with policy documents, real world case studies and theoretical frameworks, students will develop the analytical skills necessary to engage with contemporary debates in educational research and policy. The course prepares students to understand the pedagogical and ethical challenges of AI, identify key stakeholders in educational AI adoption, and examine the underlying value positions and conceptualizations of learning and teaching that shapes AI implementation in educational contexts.
The purpose of this Summer University course is to enable students to (A) understand and analyze AI policy frameworks in the context of education, (B) critically examine how AI is reshaping teacher roles and professional identity, (C) examine the underlying value positions and conceptualizations of learning and teaching that shapes AI tools and implementation in educational contexts and (D) critically examine the concept of AI literacy and how it is conceptualized in educational discourse.
