About

Attend the CESI Summer School and be a part of the ecological transition:

Driven by its values, renowned for its ability to innovate and its commitment to the ecological transition, CESI is organising a two week summer school to raise awareness for sustainability issues in civil engineering and to promote eco-friendly development. CESI’s aim is to facilitate, exchange and study among French and international students from all backgrounds on such as BIM, Smart Cities, eco-neighbourhoods and decarbonization innovations, water management in connection with sustainable development. The Summer School on "BIM for Sustainable Construction" is a perfect occasion to gain in-depth knowledge on BIM technologies and sustainable innvations for smarter cities.

Course leader

French and International speakers will train international participants in new approaches and technologies in BIM (Building Information Modeling) for sustainable construction and Smart Building concepts.

Target group

The Summer School is open to participants with at least 2 year's of Higher Education studies (Advanced Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. students). Students should have a solid knowledge in fundamental sciences for Engineering (mathematics, physics, etc.). We invite students with an engineering, architectural, urbanistic and environmental background to join our innovative and multidiciplinary Summer Program. Researchers and professionals are also very welcome. Students should have a recommended English B2 level.

Course aim

Participants will discover new approaches and technologies in BIM and sustainable construction to make building and cities sustainable. Students will also study in an international environment, work on practical projects, discover French labs and companies working in sustainable construction and discover eco-districts in Paris and Nanterre. Among the Summer School's key projects figure:
- BIM for Sustainable Construction
- 3D Fablab, AR/VR
- Workshop on circular economy
- Parisian Architecture
- BIM for building retrofit
- BIM for retrofit
- BIM data quality

Follow a two-week program in France, from July 7 to
18, to develop and deepen your knowledge in BIM for
sustainable construction, the future of Smart Cities:
- Evolve and study in English in an international
environment,
- Discover and deepen construction techniques
using BIM modeling and 3D printing
- Discover new scientific and professional approaches,
- Discover “French Tech”
- Participate in cultural and technical visits to Paris
(eco-neighborhoods, businesses, laboratories, etc.)
- Attend conferences on climate issues and de-carbonation
- Discover Paris and benefit from a cultural immersion in France

Fee

1000 EUR, The tuition fees cover all participation fees, pedagogical fees and site visites during the Summer School. They do not include accomodation costs, living costs as well as visa and insurance fees.The program fees include: - Lectures and pedagocical documentation- Access to CESI facilities in Paris-Nanterre - Welcome events - Internet access- Official program certificate upon succesful completion of the Summer School - Cultural events - Accomodation can be organised on demand on a first come first serve basis. An early bird discount is available until March 31st.
