Companies Crossing Borders

About

This summer school focuses on key legal considerations for companies crossing borders. This will be done from various perspectives: mergers & acquisitions, (aggressive) tax (planning), labour, intellectual property, insolvency and international contracts.
Our summer school is recognised by the European Law Faculties Association as one of the first ELFA Summer Courses.

The summer school will be hosted on campus AND online (live stream) via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, the collaborative online learning platform of the University of Antwerp.

Target group

Students with a degree of Bachelor of Laws or Economics, or students who are enrolled in their third year. Students with similar competences (to be assessed on a case-by-case basis) are eligible for this summer school as well.
Good command of English is required.

Course aim

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

obtain the necessary and relevant, thorough and profound knowledge of key legal considerations relating to companies crossing borders;
illustrate the basic legal concepts relating to companies crossing borders, specifically in a cross-border take-over context;
debate orally on legal topics relating to companies crossing borders;
report in writing on topics relating to companies crossing borders from a legal perspective;
develop in writing a scientifically supported legal reasoning;
find and process the relevant information in specialized legal texts (including legislation)

Fee info

The tuition fee includes lectures, course materials, coffee breaks, social activities and a closing ceremony. It does not include meals, accommodation or travel arrangements.
