This week-long course on Countering Organized Crime seeks to present a tentative account of organized crime in the Baltic region and beyond as well as providing some recommendations on how to enhance regional cooperation in countering these threats. Organized crime will be analyzed from different perspectives: as illegal activity, as a legacy of Soviet system, as a political instrument. In addition, different methods to counter organized crime will be introduced.Ā Participants of C-Organized Crime course will have an opportunity together with participants of another course on energy security of Vilnius Summer School to attend the visit to controlled zone at Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant which is of the same type as the one that exploded in Chernobyl in 1986. Ignalina NPP is in a process of decommissioning expected to be finalized by 2038.

Vilnius Summer School invites experts and scientists to share their knowledge and experience in the field of organized crime with students and any other persons from abroad who might be interested in organized crime related issues and measures how to counter it.

390 EUR, Tuition fee without accommodation: Early Birds: before 31 January 2020 - 390 Eur After 31 January 2020 - 450 Eur This tuition fee includes complete course reading materials, one meal per day (lunch), studentās handbook, maps, field-trips, and cultural and special events. Students are responsible for their own travel costs, accommodation, dinners and other personal expenses. Tuition fee with accommodation: Early Birds: before 31 January 2020 - 740 Eur After 31 January 2020 - 800 Eur Tuition fee with accommodation includes complete course reading materials, accommodation and two meals per day (breakfast and lunch), studentās handbook, maps, field-trips, and cultural and special events.
