The External Dimension of European Union Law

About

The European Union is a powerhouse on the global stage, with significant economic, political, and diplomatic influence. As one of the world’s largest economies, the EU shapes global trade and economic policies, negotiates international trade agreements and sets regulatory standards. But the external dimension of EU law extends far beyond trade. It encompasses the various ways the EU’s legal framework interacts with and impacts the world.

From defense and security to migration and environmental policies, EU law reaches across borders, influencing international partners and shaping global norms. Our summer course delves into this fascinating external dimension of EU law. You’ll explore the interplay between European and international legal orders and the mechanisms through which the EU externalizes its values, principles and regulations. Renowned scholars and experts in the field of European Union Law will cover these topics comprehensively.
