Crowdsourcing for the Common Good

About

Crowdsourcing is a varied and growing phenomenon that makes use of digital technology and the open participation of volunteers. It leverages the so-called β€œwisdom of the crowd” and empowers people to address social challenges in areas as diverse as education, health care, policy making, privacy, the environment, infrastructure, and more. This paradigm has gained wide adoption for purposes that include funding personal projects, gathering ideas, design development, collective writing, or citizen science initiatives, including so-called crowdsensing. The impact and reach of such crowd-based endeavors depend mainly on continued user participation, which calls for instruments to provide rewards, incentives, and other mechanism that attract and engage volunteers to contribute to a common cause.

The CROWD4ROADS project and its consortium partners will hold a Summer School on Crowdsourcing for the Common Good in Urbino (Italy) from September 25th to 28th 2018, which includes two days of sessions about social innovation, collective intelligence, crowdsensing, data privacy, and gamification and one full day β€œData Jam” event.
