The Danube School Series is a short term study program for postgraduate students and young professionals, who learn and discuss about facts, challenges and projects of the Danube Region. It is organised by the European Danube Academy in cooperation with several Universities of the Danube Region ( University of Tuebingen, HNU Neu-Ulm, University of Novi Sad, Andrassy University of Budapest and University of Ruse). About 25 participants meet for one week to discuss with academics and stakeholder about current challenges and possible solutions in different fields: cultural diversity, sustainability, migration, innovation & start ups etc.
This year’s Danube School will be the sixth Danube School in Ulm/Neu Ulm, Germany. In the previous years we have gained access to the great venues in and around Ulm (Vöhlin Castle, City Hall Ulm, Excursion to IT Firm and House of Danube Ulm) and developed an outstanding programme. Focus of the Danube School in Ulm 2019 is “Diversity and Identity in the Danube Region”. The program includes lectures and discussions with international lecturers and high level political decision makers from the Danube Region as well as Workshops about developing own Danube Projects in international teams. Visit www.danubeschools.eu to see the preliminary programme of the Danube School 2019.

Since the European Commission adopted the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) in 2010, there has been a growing demand for individuals who understand this complex region as well as the structures of the EU and other international and national institutions. As the EUSDR was implemented to create synergies and coordination between existing policies and initiatives taking place across the Danube Region, there is a great demand of exchange of perspectives, knowledge and opinions through networking, open discussions, and expertise. That's what the Danube School wants to achieve as well.
Results and outcomes of the Danube School Series 2019 will be published in a book end of 2019. Participants and lecturers have the chance to publish results of the project work, own research results and scientific texts about the Danube Region after the school. Please add the information about your current research project in the Danube Region or ideas about your publication text in your application form.
