The overarching goal of this course is to prepare future managers for confronting the
difficult situations that arise when making decisions in the tension-filled area between
social, environmental (or ecological), and financial responsibility and sustainability. The
course examines how corporations respond to demands and expectations from
stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, investors, and consumers in regards to
corporate social, environmental, and ethical performance. The course studies the concepts
and practices through which ethical leadership can be formed and realized. It focuses on
the practical issues of managers in addressing ethical and moral problems in business. Also
the question will be addressed, what can be done as individuals to make companies and
organisations behave responsibly. Throughout the course ethical decision-making
frameworks and approaches at the personal and organizational levels will be explored.
