The Centre for European Studies, Jagiellonian University and the ARENA Centre for European Studies, University of Oslo are pleased to open admission for the RES/PROJECT SUMMER SCHOOL 2015 on theme: “Democracy, Expertise and Power: Making a New Europe in the Era of Globalisation”. The project is supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants and co-financed by Polish funds and it runs under the media patronage of New Eastern Europe magazine.
The complex relation between globalisation, democracy and power will be discussed during the summer school.
The key concepts will be analysed through the prism of politics, economy and culture. The RES/PROJECT SUMMER SCHOOL 2015 consists of seminars and lectures which will introduce an interdisciplinary perspective and allow students to take part in challenging discussions with experts from both Jagiellonian and Oslo University and partners in the field related to the following topics:
Governance and Politics
Democratic deficit
Europeanization and Globalisation
European Neighbourhood
EU crisis
European citizenship
European heritage
Journalistic writing
Thanks to collaboration with New Eastern Europe (NEE) magazine, participants will have a chance to publish articles on the NEE website.
PARTICIPANTS PRESENTATIONS
Special emphasis will be given to the advancement of the participants' projects. Each participant will present their own research/work related to the topics of the summer school, which will be followed by a discussion.
The RES/PROJECT SUMMER SCHOOL 2015 welcomes BA (after completing 2 year of the programme) MA, Phd students from all countries, as well as recent graduates from MA programmes (no later than 2 years after graduation) interested in the topic.

What is the role of Europe in new power relations?
