This course will transform your approach to the design and development of products and services! Move beyond outdated methods and discover the power of Design Thinking combined with Sustainability Principles. Where creativity intersects with the urgent need for environmental responsibility, you'll learn to unlock groundbreaking solutions.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and their critical role in product and service development while mastering the fundamentals of the human-centered Design Thinking approach. As you progress, you'll develop real-world skills in understanding users, ideating, prototyping, and refining solutions. Stefanie Holzheu, Dipl.-Ing., M.Arch. is a media architect, creative technologist, and lab manager of Prototype Showcase of the Futurium Lab and the Open Lab Night, an informal learning program, at Futurium, Berlin. Dr. Sang Lee is an architect with a Ph.D. in architecture. He is a tenured University Docent at TU Delft, Netherlands, where he teaches architecture and sustainable design.

Learning Goals:
Upon completing the course, the participant should be able to:
Understand the key concepts and objectives of Design Thinking and its role in the design and development of sustainable products and services.
Explore how Design Thinking can be applied across the empathy, definition, ideation, and prototyping phases to create user-centered, sustainable solutions.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and their importance in the development of products and services.
Analyze the conditions and requirements for creating products and services that are both user-oriented and sustainable.

Lectures: Expert-led thematic lectures on sustainability, user-centric design, and product/service development.
Daily Class Sessions: Interactive, structured sessions featuring discussions, workshops, and hands-on project exercises to deepen understanding and foster collaboration.
