About

The Summer School is organized and hosted by the DTG (Department of Management and Engineering)
upon the proposal of its four Master's Degree Programs taught in English: Food Industry Engineering,
Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering for Product Innovation, and Mechatronics Engineering.
The program explores high-impact topics such as digitalization and emerging technologies (Industry 4.0),
sustainability, resilience, and the human-centred approach (Industry 5.0), positioning itself at the forefront
of international education in the field of industrial systems.
The Summer School is specifically designed for students who are about to complete their undergraduate
studies or who already hold a bachelor’s degree. Priority will be given to international students.
The one-week educational program integrates interdisciplinary skills needed to design, develop, and
manage innovative industrial systems. It consists of five seminars:
1. Opportunities and Challenges Associated with AI to Improve Customer Satisfaction – exploring
how digital technologies, especially artificial intelligence, are impacting business models and
company processes.
2. Digital Servitization and Business Models: Development of Advanced New Services Through the
Intelligent Use of Digital Technologies – focusing on digital servitization.
3. Smart and Sustainable Intralogistics for Warehousing and Material Handling for Food
Manufacturing – dedicated to sustainable and digital factory logistics.
4. Materials and Methods for the Sustainable Design of Innovative Products – addressing the
development of innovative and sustainable products.
5. Power Electronics in the Energy Transition: Design and Optimization of Electronic Systems for
Renewable Energy – highlighting key technologies and applications driving the sustainable energy
transition.
Teaching activities will combine in-person and virtual lectures (particularly for international faculty),
blending theoretical and practical learning with interactive sessions such as project work and case study
discussions. Innovative teaching tools and methods will also be employed.

In addition, talks by managers and industry professionals will provide real-world insights, while company
visits will offer students direct exposure to industrial environments and practices related to the school’s
themes. Social activities will also be organized to promote the department, the university, and the Veneto
region.
