The program consists of eight modules relating to themes of health, law, and technology, and there will be two sessions for every module. Each module will consist of two sessions, and both regulatory and technological aspects of every theme will be highlighted throughout these sessions. The 8 modules will be: i) Innovative use of AI in health-related technology, ii) AI & Medical Devices, iii) How might Large Language Models be used in Medical Devices, iv) Health Data Governance (including EHDS), v) Health apps, sensors, wearables and biomarkers, vi) Design thinking and medical device development, vii) Health data and Intellectual Property, and viii) Patient and Healthcare Provider Perspective.
The Summer School is a collaborative effort between the Health and Ageing Law Lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium and the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health of the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
This Summer School aims to bring together legal scholars, practitioners, medical doctors, health professionals, policymakers, industry experts, and enthusiasts of these topics.
In the dynamic landscape of contemporary healthcare, the intersection of technology, law, ethics, and regulation has become a focal point for critical discourse. As we stand on the precipice of unprecedented advancements in health technologies, the need for a comprehensive understanding of the legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks governing these innovations has become more relevant than ever. This Summer School aims to delve into the multifaceted challenges and opportunities presented by the rapid evolution of health technologies.
