Digital Multimedia

About

This practical-based module examines multimedia communication in the context of current theories and trends relating digital media to its societal context in the form of a short course. Students will take part in practical digital media production and explore the relationship between media outputs and society. The theoretical components of the module will challenge students to analyse and contextualise the digital media industries.

The module will be taught as a short course via a series of self–contained lectures and associated workshops. Lectures will focus on a particular issue relating to the theoretical contexts of multimedia communication. Workshops will provide a space in which students will engage with the topic first hand and demonstrate their understanding of the uses of digital media in society through fieldwork and practice.
