The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) is pleased to launch a new Global Summer School (GSS) program, the 15th edition of the international summer educational program focussing on how to shape the future of our cities. The GSS program will take place online and in IAAC from July 4 through July 28.

The GSS22 offers this year a new hybrid format, presenting a new and flexible workshops model interconnecting its extraordinary network of faculty, industry collaborators and laboratories in the biggest educational summer course of 2022. Since the very first editions, we have been digitally connected, sharing and learning together in an incredible global environment of educators and innovators.

IAAC launches a novel, flexible model to enrich our digital routes within an agile format. The GSS22 will offer 3 online workshops and 1 presential workshop, investigating the impact of innovative tools in the definition of a new Advanced Architecture at different scales.

The GSS program represents a unique opportunity for architects, designers, engineers - students and professionals - to conduct multi-level investigations on Computational Design, Digital Fabrication & Robotics, Urban Analytics and Environmental Design.

The aim of GSS22 is to propose alternative learning methods, inviting its participants to design new solutions to current global challenges, transforming our cities, architecture and technology. During the workshops, each participant can trace a personal path picking a single GSS22 workshop or enrolling for the entire program. Every module, run by IAAC faculties, enables the students to interact and work on projects in a real class environment, offering Global Lectures given by renowned experts and guests.

The previous edition of GSS21 was a success, seeing 200 participants connected from all over the world to join an explorative summer educational program.
