Emergency Medicine

About

Emergency Medicine Summer School is a project aimed at medical students and young doctors who wish to gain and expand their knowledge in the field of emergency medicine. It also provides a much needed opportunity to practice manual skills. Lastly, but equally as important, EMSS is a place where young people from different cultures meet, exchange ideas and find new friends, all while enjoying Croatia's beautiful Adriatic coast.

The workshops are led by experienced and approachable lecturers from University of Zagreb's School of Medicine, St. Joseph's Health Hospital in New Jersey, Zadar County's Emergency department, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and many more...

Another special feat of EMSS is the Immediate Life Support course. it is a day-long course led by ERC (European Resuscitation Council) certified instructors from Croatia. If they perform well, participants can earn the internationally recognized ILS certificate.

The School will take place in Zadar, Croatia, from July 26th to August 2nd, 2021.

Target group

Medical students and young doctors (defined as having graduated from Medical school in the past 6 months or less)

Course aim

The aim of EMSS is to provide a platform for participants to renew and expand their knowledge, as well as master new skills. The workshops consist of a theoretical part and a practical part. They will be held in classrooms and outside - at the beach, in a National park, on a parking lot.

We from the organizing committee also wish to get to know our participants, learn from them and have a fun week together. In our social program we walk through Zadar's ancient cobblestone streets, enjoy beautiful nature, swim, sunbathe, hike, eat good food, play games... We generally try to show you Croatian hospitality. :)
