English Advanced Course 2 (B2+ → C1)

About

Do you want to express yourself fluently and confidently in English at an advanced level? Maybe you still struggle to find the right phrases or you have a hard time understanding academic writing. This course will provide you with the tools to help you bridge the gap. The course is designed for learners aiming to reach level C1.

You will optimize your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through engaging lessons and interactive exercises. Guided by experienced teachers, you will expand your vocabulary, refine your grammar and build your fluency, with a focus on both accuracy and expression. Every class includes conversation practice, giving you ample opportunities to boost your confidence and connect with classmates from around the world.

Babel is situated in a monumental building in the centre of Utrecht. After class, discover the city with your classmates! Many people in the Netherlands speak English quite well. Put your new language skills to the test!

Registration information:
Registration closes four weeks before the start of the course. You can apply via this website. After your application, Babel will send you a level placement test. If you have taken the test and your level matches the course, Babel will accept your application and you will receive an invoice.

Target group

This course is suitable for people who have reached CEFR level B2+. To check your level, you will need to take the Babel placement test. This test consists of two parts: multiple choice questions and writing tasks. A teacher will assess your language skills. Based on your test result, you will be advised on a suitable course.

Course aim

This course helps you improve your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and learn self-study strategies. The aim of the course is to reach level C1.
