ERCA 2020

About

ERCA is a high level international course on the Physics and Chemistry of atmospheres, the climate system and climate change, atmospheric pollution at different scales and the human dimensions of environmental changes. The course also covers other planets, satellites and objects of the solar system and beyond. During 4 weeks, lectures, visits of institutes, and practicals at the astronomical observatory of Haute-Provence are organized.

- students enrolled in a doctoral programme;
- postdoctoral and young scientists from public or private laboratories;
- any other scientists or engineers from public or private laboratories.

Course aim

ERCA is designed as a multidisciplinary course on the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere of the Earth, the climate system, climate change, atmospheric pollution at different scales, human dimensions of environmental changes and the solar system. It provides an excellent opportunity for the participants to broaden their scientific horizons. The course also provides the ideal setting to interact and discuss research with lecturers who are leaders in their fields, and have access to the most modern instruments for atmospheric measurements. ERCA also allows the participants to initiate fruitful collaborations with young scientists from all over the world who will be the leaders in their field in the future, and participate in joint research programmes. Networking is also favoured with previous participants of ERCA through an alumni group hosted by LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12038119].
