The EMA Programme is one of the eight Regional Masterβs Programmes organised by the Global Campus of Human Rights. It was created with the support of the European Union and 43 participating universities from all the EU member states.
EMA is both a residential and an exchange programme: the first semester from September to January is organised at the Global Campus premises in Venice and the second semester from February to July takes place in one of the EMA participating universities within the member states of the European Union plus the UK and Switzerland.

About 70 academics from the participating universities and experts from international IGOs and NGOs contribute to the EMA teaching programme. In their second semester destinations, students are supervised and supported by the EMA National Directors.
EMA is open to a maximum of 90 candidates from EU and non-EU countries.
Candidates must meet the following admission requirements:
- Hold a university degree of a high standard in a field relevant to human rights, including disciplines in Law, Social Sciences and Humanities, and must have a minimum of 180 ECTS (Bachelor/General Degree).
- Have certified knowledge of English at least at level B2. Accepted certificates are IELTS (min. score 6), TOEFL (min. 80 for the IBT) and Cambridge exams (min. score 160-179), obtained no more than 3 years before the start of the programme.
EMA was established with the following aims:
- To educate high-level professionals in the field of human rights and democratisation qualified to work as academics, staff members or field workers for inter-governmental, governmental, and non-governmental organisations;
- To provide its graduates with both a solid theoretical understanding of issues related to human rights and democratisation and with operational skills enabling them to perform practical work in this area;
- To create and maintain a European network of curriculum development and staff exchange among universities in the field of human rights and democratisation
Fee
6450 EUR, The tuition fee for the academic year 2025/2026 is β¬6450,00 (β¬6300,00 tuition fee + enrolment fee of β¬150,00) payable in instalments. The tuition fee covers attendance costs and participation in the field trip, learning materials, the canteen service (on class and exam days), and access to the Global Campus library resources. Travel, visa and accommodation costs during both the first and second semester are the responsibility of student
