About

The European Summer School stands out for its purpose-driven methodology, which forms leaders capable of guiding society with a vision centered on the common good. With a curriculum developed in collaboration with the Center for the Global Common Good at UFV and COMECE, participants will explore security and defense challenges through the lens of Christian Social Thought and Doctrine.

In an era marked by rapid transformations, the European Summer School 2025, organized by the Escuela de Gobierno y Liderazgo Isabel la Católica (EGL), offers a unique opportunity for young leaders to engage with the critical challenges of security and defense facing Europe today. The program also includes a tour visit to the city of Barcelona, providing participants with an enriching cultural experience alongside their academic journey.

Target group

The European Summer School 2025 is tailored for young individuals, primarily European citizens aged 22-30, who demonstrate a strong vocation for politics and social leadership. Ideal participants are in their final years of university or master’s studies or are early-career professionals driven by a commitment to public service and the common good. The program is highly selective, welcoming a maximum of 70 participants to ensure an intimate, impactful learning experience

Course aim

Aims to empower emerging leaders with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation needed to address Europe’s most pressing security and defense challenges. Grounded in Christian Social Thought and inspired by the Jubilee of Hope, the program fosters a vision of leadership rooted in service, empathy, and a commitment to the global common good.

The European Summer School 2025 is more than a learning experience—it is a call to action for future leaders to engage with Europe’s security challenges and pursue solutions that serve humanity and the common good. This 7-day summer school follows a trinity-based approach of Prayer, Learning, and Culture, combining spiritual reflection, academic exploration, and cultural immersion to inspire well-rounded, purpose-driven leaders

Fee info

The program fee is €2,000 (tuition and meals included). Early bird applicants receive a 30% discount (€1,400), with limited merit-based scholarships of 50% or 80% available for outstanding candidates—apply early to maximize your chances!
