Forensic Psychology

About

Investigative psychology is a sub-discipline of forensic psychology, but is more focused on police investigations than on the court system, the correctional system, or helping victims. It is concerned not only with murder (contrary to films and tv), but all forms of criminality, ranging from arson, fraud, rape to burglary. Potential topics covered in the course could include investigative inferences and offender profiling (criminal action patterns), detective decision-making, interviewing and questioning, and false allegations and confessions.
