This school takes a close look at contemporary children’s rights issues such as juvenile justice, alternative care, protection and participation of children in (armed) conflict, emerging global issues and children's rights and digital technologies.
In this 6th edition, children's rights issued are explored from a legal perspective, accompanied by reflections from other academic disciplines, legal systems, local perceptions and realities. Leading academic and professional experts in the field of children’s rights, international law and other relevant disciplines offer inspiring and interactive lectures, seminars and excursions in and around Leiden Law School.

This summer school is aimed at law students (who have completed at least three years of their degree), young graduates and professionals with a background in law. Applicants with a background in other relevant disciplines that are relevant to the theme of the summer school will be considered as well.
Frontiers of Children's Rights enables participants to learn about children's rights issues. Participants also get to connect with participants from all over the world. It is an enriching experience for professionals and advanced students who work on children's rights on a daily basis.
Fee
950 EUR, The fee includes access to the digital course materials, a certificate of participation, educational field trips, lunches and refreshments on course days, welcome drinks, a canal boat tour through the historic town of Leiden, and a farewell dinner at the beach.
Fee
800 EUR, We offer a special Early Bird fee of €800 to participants who register before 1 March 2018. Leiden University students, students from partner universities, and participants who have registered for another Grotius Centre summer school also pay a reduced fee of €800.
