Graphic and Digital Design

About

Are you interested in gaining an understanding of graphic and digital design techniques? Do you want to develop your skills in graphic and design technology? This module introduces core graphic and digital design concepts and principles. It also introduces the skills and technology required for professional practice. This is a highly practical module which includes a mix of research, theory and project work. Activities will include visual exploration techniques and strategies via a series of intensive collaboration workshops, seminars and presentations. Fundamental theories and practice include design principles, design contexts and project brief. You’ll also explore the applications integrated into creative communication design solutions. You’ll study design techniques such as typography, iconography, composition, and image-making. You’ll use the knowledge and skills gained to produce different creative artwork. You’ll apply your artwork in various media that spans both print and digital production methods.

Please note, the Leeds International Summer School runs for four weeks (2 - 30 July 2022). You can choose to study with us for two weeks or for the full four-week programme. Each module lasts two weeks so you study one module if you choose to attend for two weeks and two modules if you choose to attend for four weeks.
