How Migration Really Works

About

This course explores the complex and multifaceted processes that shape global migration patterns, policies, and experiences. Drawing on Hein de Haas’s influential book, β€œHow Migration Really Works,” students will examine the structural causes of migration, including economic, social, political, and environmental factors. The course critically analyses misconceptions about migration, investigates the roles of migrants and societies, and discusses contemporary challenges and policy responses.
