The 11th edition of the Summer School on Signal Processing (S3P-2025) offers a unique opportunity for PhD students and researchers to dive into multimodal AI and foundation models with international experts. Attendees will have opportunities for networking, face-to-face discussions, and presenting their work in oral/poster sessions.
S3P-2025 will take place at the Riva degli Etruschi Resort in San Vincenzo, Tuscany, Italy. Surrounded by a lush 320,000 mΒ² park with a Mediterranean pinewood that leads to a sandy beach. The venue offers easy access to ancient tuscan villages like Suvereto and Bolgheri, as well as cities like Pisa, Siena, and Florence. Conveniently located, the resort is about an hour from Pisa and two hours from Florence

The 2025-S3P subtitle will be "From Foundational Models to Multimedia Signal Processing: A deep dive in multimodal AI". The interaction between Signal Processing (SP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is experiencing a profound shift, propelled by the widespread adoption of foundational models. These large-scale AI systems, pre-trained on vast multimodal datasets, are redefining how we approach classic SP tasks in image, video, and audio processing. While deep learning has already revolutionized many SP applications, foundational models take this further, offering unprecedented generalization capabilities and enabling new forms of cross-modal reasoning. At the same time, SP principles remain essential for improving efficiency, robustness, and interpretability in modern AI.
This summer school will explore how foundational models are influencing the future of SP and AI, covering key topics such as generative AI for media synthesis and detection. Through this lens, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how foundational models are not only advancing research but also redefining the fundamental principles of multimodal AI

The fees are divided into a School Registration fee and a Hotel fee, and registration is considered complete only upon payment of both. The School Registration fee includes participation in the school, access to all course materials, coffee breaks, the welcome party, and the social event and dinner. The Hotel fee covers accommodation at the resort, including breakfast and a full lunch each day (featuring a first course, second course, drink and dessert) with options for both Mediterranean and continental diets throughout the five-day program. Additionally, the fee includes beach service with a numbered, reserved spot for the entire stay, access to the swimming pool center and gym, entertainment activities, a reserved and numbered parking space, and Wi-Fi available in designed hotsposts
