About

USAMV Bucharest and its partners within the ENHANCE consortium invite highly motivated postgraduate students (Master or PhD), researchers from agro-economics disciplines, and young professionals from governmental institutions to the 3rd Summer School of this project entitled "Institutional Economics".

Course leader

The Summer School 2018 will be organized by Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Halle (Saale), Germany. Prof. Dr. Thomas Herzfeld (IAMO) is an expert in applied analysis of rural household behaviour as well as an

Target group

 Postgraduate students (Masters or PhD students) familiar with introductory levels of microeconomics.
 Young researchers with an educational background in economics, management, marketing or other social sciences disciplines applied to agriculture.
 Young professionals from governmental institutions, regional organizations related to agriculture (ministries, authorities and agencies) who need a refresher course in scientific working.

Course aim

The 2018 USAMV Bucharest Agricultural Economics and Policy Summer School will introduce the various concepts of defining and conceptualising economic institutions, focusing especially on institutions of natural resource use, agricultural production and agricultural markets. Examples will be mainly derived from European countries where the experience of the transformation process of the last decades figures prominently. Wherever suitable, links with other theoretical approaches like game theory and behavioural economics will be explored.

70 EUR, No tuition fee is required for the courses. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 691681. Breakfasts, Coffee breaks, and Lunches (Monday-Friday) and other extra-curricular activities (Visit to a Romanian institution in the field of agricultural economics, Closing Ceremony and Cultural night). NO accommodation.

Fee

107 EUR, No tuition fee is required for the courses. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 691681. 7 nights of accommodation in DOUBLE (Eur 107) or SINGLE (Eur 167) rooms within the USAMV campus.
