In today's global world an understanding of what happens when people from different cultures meet and work together is quite essential for managers and leaders. The course is aimed at students who want to better understand the cultural differences in today’s globalised world, with its’ increased cross-border alliances, ventures and global relocations.

The course focuses on comparing Scandinavian and Norwegian cultures with other cultures in the international business arena. This context will provide the backdrop for understanding and applying research on culture, communication and management.

Students will examine how the globalisation of the economy affects leadership and marketing, as well as how we communicate in a multi-national management perspective and negotiate in a cross-cultural context within a Scandinavian focus.

The course consists of classroom lectures by highly qualified BI faculty members, case studies, group work and will give insights to Norwegian industries through guest lectures and company visits. The course will require active participation from the student and successful participants will be rewarded with 12 ECTS and a transcript from Triple Crown university, BI Norwegian Business School.
