The course focuses on comparing Scandinavian and Norwegian cultures with other cultures in the international business arena. This context will provide the backdrop for understanding and applying research on culture, communication and management.
Participants examine intercultural management in specific global industries where Norwegian firms have excelled. We will also investigate how people from different cultures meet in a Scandinavian context where values of gender equality dominate and specific employment rules and rights must be applied.
The course consists of lectures, case studies, group work and company visits.
In addition the summer program provides students with carefully planned social activities that further ensures understanding of globalization and Norwegian culture.
