Catholic University of America and Jagiellonian University in Krakow invite you to the International Business & Trade Summer Law Program: intensive training in global aspects of modern trade, comparative perspectives on regulated industries and business laws in the U.S. and the EU, international business transactions, and law of the EU.
Classes are conducted in English at the 14th-century Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe.
EU and American students attend classes together and participate in all co-curricular activities together. This cross-cultural aspect of the Kraków program is unique and has resulted in many lasting friendships and business contacts.
Poland leads in the growing world of Business Services Centers, which provide support services to major corporations in fields like financial services, information technology, employment law, and compliance, and employ almost 400,000 people in the country. This dynamic business environment provides an ideal environment to study the contemporary world of law, business and global trade.
Founded in 1992, the IBTSLP is unique among summer law programs in having equal numbers of US, Polish, and other international students studying together each year. Almost 650 US alumni indicates the significance of cross-border US-EU business relations. The more than 450 international alumni of the program open doors to prestigious jobs in the field of law and business to our students.
SOCIAL AND INTEGRATION EVENTS
The Program will commence with an orientation and walking tour of historic Kraków and dinner will follow at a local restaurant. Kraków's center, known as Rynek Glowny Market Square, spans approximately ten acres and is teeming with busy cafes, clubs, restaurants, and shopping for locals and visitors to explore.
Kraków, a city known for its architectural beauty and cultural heritage, was almost entirely spared the destruction of World War II. A field trip has been planned for students to explore Kraków in the context of World War II (the Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz and a historical Podgorze district), trip to Zakopane in the Polish mountains, and a tour of Auschwitz/Birkenau.
