About

The course provides an introduction to the field of global health. It focuses on key global health issues, which are addressed using an interdisciplinary perspective. Topics that will be covered include health disparities, global burden of disease, universal health coverage, communicable and non-communicable diseases, child health, sexual and reproductive health, pandemics, one health, immigrant health and global research ethics. These topics will be presented through lectures and group discussions.

The course is particularly relevant for people who are working in health as health care professionals, policy makers, researchers, planners, program officers in government agencies and non-governmental organisations and persons planning for further learning on global health.

An important asset in the class are the students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds: different countries, professional training, academic training, work experience, and culture. Sharing experiences and learning from each other are integral parts of the course.
