The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies organises its tenth Summer School on International Criminial Law from the 18th of June to the 29th of June 2012. In light of its location and the quality of its contributors and participants this School offers a unique opportunity to gain expertise in International Criminal Law. The lectures and workshops will be given in English.rnrnProgrammernThis Lectures will deal with International Criminal Law in all its aspects, from substantive crimes (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression) to general principles (including modes of liability and the role of victims) to enforcement. The programme also includes an exercise on cross-examination techniques and a pleading exercise, as well as visits to the ICC, the ICTY and the Peace Palace. The participants will receive a certificate of paticipation after completion of the programme.

Target group

Law students and young professionals with an obvious interest in international criminal law.

Course aim

This two-week intensive course aims at providing an insight into the core topics of international criminal law, and is intended for students who want to deepen their knowledge in international criminal law in a brief period of time. Influential scholars and professionals from various international legal organisations, such as the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia will contribute to this course.
