Introduction to the Ancient History of Hispania: a Multidisciplinary Vision

Are you passionate about History? Would you like to discover the history of Hispania? Do you want to apply archeological methods and techniques in one of the most famous archeological sites in Almeria? If so, this course is for you! Our course on History and Archeology will teach you the general context of Ancient Hispanic History, while introducing you to some research techniques and archeological methods, so you can apply them during your visit to two different sites: Torregacía Retamar Site and “Camino Viejo”. Moreover, you will also have the opportunity to visit Manuel Carrillero Archeological Laboratory. Course aim

1. To know the ancient history of Spain 2. To provide an overview of the evolution of the civilizations that occupied the peninsula. 3. To introduce historical research in multidisciplinary methodology through field archaeology, non-invasive methods, digital programmes, and laboratory work. 4. To motivate awareness of the historical heritage, its enhancement and conservation. 5. To export and disseminate the historical and cultural heritage abroad by means of foreign students. 6. To make known the scientific work of the Abdera-UAL research group.
