The circular economy is a smart approach to extending the life of resources. We are developing artistic models in which an existing material will go through exactly this process! Looking for the possibility of the perfect cycle.
Resources are finite. The aim of this workshop is to look at how we can conserve resources. This will enrich rather than limit the artistic process. Sustainable consumption and the conservation of resources is a global goal.
We are researching the possibility of the perfect cycle. The focus of artistic activity is the experience of an effective process.
We experiment using one material, one resource, as an example. In our workshop, the resource will be Cardboard. Cardboard is one of the most widely used packaging materials, with a market share of 67.1% in Germany. It will be about inventing production cycles and experiencing them together.
The starting point is an empty room. We will develop a site-specific installation for the workshop period that captures our utopias of future coexistence. With our co-actor, the cardboard, we will design and implement our ideas. This will make our utopias visible for a week and then disappear back into the cycle at the end of the workshop.
Your individual utopian ideas form the basis of our collective action. We will work in small groups. The workshop will start with the procurement of materials. The aim will be to procure existing material in our system that we can work with without acquiring anything new. Pooling knowledge will be the first resource-saving step towards working with circular systems.
