About

The territorial morphology, the local low lighting (given by the presence of small villages hidden under the hillsides) and the policies adopted by the territory of Cuneo were the basis of the choice of the construction of an observatory/wooden platform in the area behind the Church of San Luigi, on top of the hill.
The platform built with local sourced wood, will become the basis for the study of the stars and for the positioning of telescopes capable of projecting the celestial vault on the ceiling of the Church.

Course leader

Fabio Revetria and Lara Sappa founded Officina82 in 2007. From the beginning, they deal with integrated architecture and landscape projects and focus on interventions in historical and landscape contexts.

Target group

The workshop is open to anyone interested in the subject, regardless of age, provided they are at least 18 years old. The official languages of the activities will be Italian and English.

Course aim

Practical self- construction workshop for the realization of a wood platform for astronomical observation on the panoramic hill of the church of San Luigi Re di Francia.
